Israel’s preferred candidate for the Edo State governorship, Ighodalo, had petitioned the Supreme Court to overturn Okpebholor’s announcement on Monday that he had won the election in September 2023.

The Apex court, however, rejected Ighodalo’s petition on Thursday, July 10, 2025, stating that it was worthless.

Reacting to it via his Instagram story, Israel shared a photo of Ighodalo receiving anointing from a clergyman, as he made him know that anointing doesn’t win elections in Nigeria.
