Infighting Can Stall Development – Ekiti Govt Tasks Monarch On Peace

The government of Ekiti State has urged traditional rulers to promote peace and unity within their communities, warning that persistent infighting among residents can slow down development.

Speaking during a recent engagement, officials of the Ekiti State government emphasized that community disputes and leadership crises often delay infrastructure projects and hinder social progress in many local areas.

The government specifically appealed to the monarch to continue fostering peace among residents, stressing that stability is essential for attracting investment and ensuring sustainable development across communities.

According to the state authorities, traditional institutions play a vital role in maintaining harmony at the grassroots level and helping resolve conflicts before they escalate into larger crises.

They added that when communities remain peaceful and united, it becomes easier for the government to implement development projects and improve the living standards of residents.

The call for peace comes amid concerns that internal disputes within some communities could slow down ongoing development efforts in parts of the state.

Stakeholders therefore encouraged community leaders, youth groups, and traditional rulers to work together to promote dialogue and peaceful coexistence.
