TikTok Comedian Sanku Dies in Car Crash on Oyo–Ogbomoso Road
The Nigerian entertainment industry has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of popular TikTok comedian Sanku.
Sanku, who had over 1.9 million followers on the platform, tragically passed away on September 1, 2025, after being involved in a fatal accident on the Oyo–Ogbomoso Road in Ibadan. Reports confirmed that his vehicle veered off the road into a ditch. He was rushed to the hospital but sadly succumbed to his injuries.
The shocking news has left fans and colleagues devastated. Social media has since been flooded with tributes, as fellow comedians like Jidex Klothing and Eregele, alongside Nollywood actress Funmi Awelewa, expressed their grief and paid homage to his talent and legacy.
Sanku’s final TikTok post—where he shared a touching reflection: “When it’s time for us to enjoy what we worked hard for, may we never lose our life”—has since become a memorial space where fans continue to pour out heartfelt condolences.
